Windsor Vineyards has always believed in doing things right. In this spirit, Windsor's founders gained ownership of some of the best vineyard land in Sonoma County, from the Russian River Valley to the Alexander Valley, and began to make distinctive wines. Today, 41 years later, Windsor still grows grapes on some of those original vineyard properties, but now Windsor wines are also made with grapes from some of Sonoma County's top growers, including Murphy, Preston and Kuimelis. The fruit of these fine vineyards, along with the magic of our winemaker, have produced an award-winning record of which the winery is very proud. Winemaker Toni Stockhausen has the resources and talent to make a variety of wine styles, and Windsor offers more than 40 different wines to suit a broad range of tastes and occasions. For three consecutive years (2000, 1999 and 1998), Windsor Vineyards has won more awards than any other winery in America, according to "California Wine Winners: The Best of the Judgings," published by Varietal Fair. As America's first mail order winery, Windsor Vineyards pioneered winery sales direct to consumers through its catalogs, tasting rooms, and personal wine consultant program. And the ability to place your name, logo, or personalized message on the label of every bottle of wine you order is a Windsor Vineyards exclusive. We produce a full line of premium varietal wines, from classics like Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot and Pinot Noir to dessert wines and Champagne, which are made at our winery in Windsor, Sonoma County, California. Windsor wines are not available on any retail shelf. Our wines are sold only direct to the consumer, through our wine consultants, our catalog, and our tasting rooms. Windsor is the largest producing winery to sell consumer-direct only. We don't buy wines to sell to you, as many mail order wine clubs do Ñ we make them ourselves.
