Established by Jerold O'Brien in 1979, Silver Mountain Vineyards is located at an elevation of 2,000 feet in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The winery and vineyard enjoy a spectacular view of the Monterey Bay and surrounding redwood forest, affording a beautiful setting for food and wine tasting dinners and scheduled sunset and fireside tastings. The estate vineyard has a southwestern exposure and the climate is influenced by the Monterey Bay. Additionally the best Chardonnay, Zinfandel and Bordeaux-type Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes are purchased from dry farmed vineyards. Warm summer days and cool nights balance to produce a longer "hang time" for our fruit, maximizing their flavor. We are devoted to the production of robust and complex world-class wines.
