Savannah-Chanelle
Vineyards is nestled in the redwoods along the historic "Chaine
d'Or" (Golden Chain) in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
Established
by French immigrant Pierre Pourroy in 1892, Savannah-Chanelle
Vineyards still makes wines from some of the original plantings.
The vineyard sits on 58 acres with 14 acres cultivated for producing
four different award winning varietals of wine: Cabernet Franc,
Carignane, Zinfandel and Chardonnay. The winery's 1912 Redwood
Tasting Room and Mediterranean style chateau with spectacular
views is available for small seminars, with outdoor facilities
for picnics, weddings and barbeques. Originally opened in 1917,
the winery was built in a traditional pre-electric gravity flow
design.
Conveniently
located only 3.3 miles from the Village of Saratoga, this working
winery and special event site is close to Silicon Valley but
worlds away from the everyday business environment.
Tasting
is available daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is a $3 charge
for wine tasting. Tours for 10 or more people are available
for $10 a person, which includes an 18.5 ounce crystal bordeaux
wineglass. Appointments need to be made at least 72 hours beforehand.
We also participate in the Passport program. When you attend
on Passport day with your passport to be stamped, there is no
tasting charge.
