Our
Mission... To make the World's Finest Pinot Noir!
The
David Bruce Winery produces premium wines from its own Estate
Vineyard in the Santa Cruz Mountains and from vineyards in eight
appellations in Northern and Central California.
Bonded
in 1964, David Bruce Winery is located in the Santa Cruz Mountains
and consists of 15 acres: 10 planted to Pinot Noir, 3 to Chardonnay
and 2 to Syrah. The Estate Vineyard is in the Santa Cruz Mountain
appellation, at 2,200 feet. It has a cool southwesterly exposure,
overlooking the Monterey Bay and Pacific Ocean. Total production
at David Bruce Winery is 60,000 cases per year, including Chardonnay,
Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel and Petite Syrah.
The
final steps in winemaking at David Bruce Winery are taken in
another novel approach - collaborative decision making. Final
decisions are reached during weekly tastings held by a committee
consisting of owner David Bruce, president Jeff Ottoboni, winemakers
Ken Foster and Tony Craig, assistant winemaker Eric Glomski,
vineyard manager Greg Stokes, and director of sales and marketing
Joe Kimbro. This team has used this method of collaboration
on winemaking at David Bruce for more than 10 years.
