Burrell
School Vineyards is one of the newest in the Santa Cruz Mountains
appellation. They are a small, hands-on operation, owned by
Dave and Anne Moulton. They grow both Chardonnay and Merlot
at their mountain ridge top site. Five acres of vines sit at
1560 feet elevation, well above the fog line, giving the vineyards
a long warm growing season, with cool nights on a mountain terrain.
The
winery building is located at the site of the teacher's carriage
house featured on their labels. They barrel ferment their Chardonnay
and barrel age the red varietals along with the Chardonnay.
